Archive for the ‘Liberals’ Category

Liberals are infatuated with the death sentence. Not for adults who have been found guilty of crimes against humanity, but for the unborn who, according to the liberal way of thinking, may grow up to commit a crime. To wit:

A private abortion costs less than $500.  I am sure there will be abortion clinics down there to provide private service, and it would be a better atmosphere anyway.  You never know who would be working in the hospitals who might have a religious objection, and you know what religious people can get like, (shooting people, blowing things up…)

hypocriteAnd then there are people like Jon 34 who refuse to accept that women have the right to end pregnancy.  He’d like all women who have abortions charged with murder.  Sigh.  So how about the military, Jon?  Are all those soldiers murderers because the bible says though shalt not kill?  Grow up my friend.  I’d love to see the government ‘not fund’ the military, eh?  Because some peace groups call it murder?

These are ugly truths but should be identified and considered.  I do not like abortion, just like I do not like bombs and guns, but it is a reality in our world and lets deal with it with understanding.

So much for due process, civil rights, and the presumption of innocence. Unless you’re a grown man who shoots people indiscriminately while screaming “Allahu Akbar”. Oops, I meant allegedly shoots people while allegedly screaming “Allahu Akbar”.

gone-hunting-a-5Blue dog Dems are coming under heavy pressure from party leaders this week, as Democrats scramble to pass their agenda before a full-scale revolt breaks out. Thousands of people rallied on the steps of the Capitol Thursday to protest the massive power grab being arranged by our august representatives. Another protest is planned for today, and the turnout is expected to be even larger.

The alarming results of November 3rd kicked the Democratic machine into hyper-drive and they’ll work all weekend to shove their legislation through. The first thing they did was attempt a head fake, with high-level Dems telling the media that health care won’t pass this year..

“Getting this done by the by the end of the year is a no-go,” a senior Democratic leadership aide told ABC News. Two other key Congressional Democrats also told ABC News the same thing.

Before you could heave a sigh and say “Lord willing and the creek don’t rise”, both houses of Congress began a race to jump the shark on both cap and trade and health care.

On Thursday, Senate Democrats hustled the cap-and-trade bill out of committee without so much as a hello-and-howdy to the Republicans — knowing full well the GOPers would oppose it.

Meanwhile, Democratic leaders in the House want a Saturday showdown for their $1.2 trillion health care takeover after trumpeting support from the AARP and American Medical Association.

Pelosi is rolling out the big guns, many hesitant Blue Dogs have received calls from Rahm Emanuel and Obama. The fact is, Democrats control the House by such a wide margin that they can have 40 defectors and still pass a bill…and they’re still having trouble getting the votes.

Representative Jason Altmire, an undecided Democrat from Pennsylvania, said Obama, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and two Cabinet secretaries have called him to make the pitch that “this is an historic moment.”

Altmire said administration and House leaders have stressed that the House bill isn’t the final product, since the Senate is deliberating over its own version, “but if we didn’t do this, it’s dead,” Altmire said.

“It doesn’t appear they have the votes,” Altmire told reporters. “That’s pretty clear.”

In a stunning display of her peculiar brand of lying-in-the-face-of-all-evidence, San Fran Nan said this to a reporter…

Pelosi, a California Democrat, said she is hopeful a Sunday session won’t be necessary. “It all depends on the Republicans and how long they want to delay,” she said.

“We’ll see when we get to the floor,” Pelosi said when asked if she had the votes.

Republicans? How stupid do you think we are, ma’am? The Republicans couldn’t delay a broken-down Yugo right now, much less the government run-away freight train to hell.

Apparently, a lot of Blue Dogs are putting up at least a token resistance, if only for the sake of the next election. I hate to break to them, (okay, I love it) but they’re getting the hook regardless. The American people are tired of being talked down to, and the backlash is going to be epic.

The sleeping giant is not only awake, he’s on the hunt and loaded for bear.

While the nation is distracted by rampaging gunmen, the Democrats are working feverishly behind closed doors to pass a bill that will give the government totalitarian powers over every American citizen.

According to this bill, if you don’t run out and buy what the Democrats deem an acceptable level of health insurance for yourself and every member of your family, Pelosi is going to throw your sorry, deadbeat *ss in jail.

H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or husband and wife in case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.

The tax is equal to the lesser of (a) the national or average premium for single or family coverage, as applicable, as determined by the Secretary of Treasury in coordination with the Health Choices Commissioner, or (b) 2.5 percent of the excess of the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income over the threshold amount of income required for the income tax return filing for that taxpayer. This tax is in addition to both regular income tax and alternative minimum tax, and is prorated for periods in which the failure exists for only part of the year. In general, the additional tax applies only to United States citizens and resident aliens. The additional tax does not apply to those who are residents of the possessions or who are dependents, nor does it apply to those whose lapses in coverage are de minimis or those with religious conscience exemptions. The additional tax does not apply if the maintenance of acceptable coverage would result in a hardship to the individual or if the person’s income is below the threshold for filing a Federal income tax return.

If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…” [page 2]

Criminal penalties” monopoly-go-to-jail-card1

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses.  Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:

• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.

• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]

stupidThe Democrats, Obama in particular, were handed a report card on Tuesday. They took one look at the big, red “F” for FAIL and decided it meant that people were upset with them, not because the people loathe their agenda, but because they haven’t been able to implement it yet.

The mind boggles. Simply…boggles.

Not that we believe for a second that they believe their own horsehockey, not by a long shot, but because they have the gall, the effrontery, the stones, to try to convince us they believe it.

As they assessed the results, Democratic lawmakers and party strategists said their judgment was that voters remained very uneasy about the economy and did not see Democrats producing on the health, energy and national security changes they promised when voters swept them to power only a year ago.

Sorry,  you can’t ‘wee-wee up’ on Americans and tell them it’s raining, ask King George III how that worked out.

While Obama fantasizes about windmills and little cars that go buzzzzzzzzzz

Follow-up to The Devil Went Down to Georgia

steamfont-windmills

Sweden and Finland just approved the Nord Stream pipeline, a $15 billion project that will pump Russia’s natural gas to Germany via the Black Sea, bypassing Ukraine entirely. 80% of Russia’s natural gas is currently pumped through Ukraine, and a series of price disputes over the years has led to Russia cutting the gas off till its demands were met. Twice.

Between Swedish environmental regulations and some fussing by officials over details of the construction permit, the deal took 23 months to go through. Russia and Germany are expected to sign off on it, with construction set to begin next year. Two parallel pipelines will be constructed, with one scheduled to open in 2011 and the second a year later.  The pipes will be 758 miles long, running from the St. Petersburg area to northern Germany, with the capacity to deliver 55 billion cubic meters of gas a year.

This deal follows on the heels of a $3.5 billion deal with China..

Gazprom Chief Executive Alexei Miller told reporters the deal could open the way to Russia, the world’s biggest natural gas producer, supplying 70 billion cubic meters per year to China from Siberia and the Russian Far East, including Sakhalin.

This could make China the biggest buyer of Russia’s natural gas, overtaking Germany, which imported around 37 bcm last year.

Which followed on the heels of another deal

BAKU — Russia and Azerbaijan have agreed to two major natural-gas deals during a visit to Baku by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, RFE/RL’s Azerbaijani Service reports.

One agreement, signed by Russian gas giant Gazprom’s Aleksei Miller and State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev, defines the basic terms of gas deliveries from Azerbaijan to Russia under a memorandum signed on March 29.

Which, yes, you guessed it, followed on the heels of another deal..

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his visiting Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov discussed on March 25 in Moscow energy cooperation between their two countries, including the Caspian pipeline. Medvedev said that Moscow and Ashgabat will soon sign new agreements on natural gas production and transportation, RIA Novosti reported. “We studied in detail cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, including progress in the implementation of very important accords, such as the intergovernmental agreement on the Caspian pipeline, and other projects,” Medvedev said after talks in Moscow with Berdymukhammedov.

While Russia has been working to ensure its future prosperity by following Reaganomics, to wit, developing its abundant energy resources, cutting taxes, annnnd reducing government spending, our country will soon be swirling the drain thanks to a few things like..

All of which will massively increase our energy costs. The dollar will plummet at about the time energy rates skyrocket and the US government will collapse under the weight of its own debt, taking the American people down with it.

For a little fun, the next time a liberal brags to you about his electric car, ask him what will happen when the world’s supply of lithium runs out.

No Drama, Obama

I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the West Wing right now. Rahm raging through the halls slamming doors and reaching far down into his lexicon of colorful expressions while terrified aides wish themselves invisible…Gibbs in front of his bathroom mirror rehearsing his lines…obama_poster_crybaby

  • “No really, Obama didn’t watch the returns last night.”
  • “Off-year elections mean nothing”
  • “No, I don’t think this sends any sort of a signal about the popularity of Obama’s agenda”
  • “This will not affect the way we do business”
  • “We have more important things to focus on”
  • “Distraction”

While Obama slumps on a rusty piece of gym equipment smoking a ciggie and muttering, “Typical white people.”

Get used to it, baby. There’s a lot more where that came from.

UPDATE:

“I don’t think the president is looking at these and believes that they say anything about our future legislative efforts or our future political efforts,” said Mr Gibbs.

I don’t believe that local elections in New Jersey and Virginia portend a lot about legislative success or political success in the future.”

Course not, no worries Gibbsy! Carry on.

Famed film director Ronald Emmerich enjoys a rather odd niche in movie making: he specializes in creating scenes about important statues and landmarks getting destroyed. He was the genius behind blowing up the White House in Independence Day and flooding New York City in The Day After Tomorrow.

chickenThanks to Emmerich’s pioneering ways, modern viewers can hardly go more than 30 minutes without seeing some iconic figure get randomly destroyed. In GI Joe it was the Eiffel Tower. Transformers 2, the pyramids. Wolverine destroyed a nuclear plant on Six Mile Island, and ABC Family tried its hand at a series that destroyed the moon.

From somewhere beyond, Douglas Adams is smiling.

In his latest adventure, Emmerich directed the highly-publicized film 2012 which supposedly chronicles the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar.

A particular scene, which was leaked early on for preview, depicted collapse of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil. Many Christians took offense to the image, asking what purpose an action film would have in bringing up religious objects.

As The Messenger has noted before, liberals have no problem bringing religion into the public square for the purpose of attacking it.

When asked about the issue in a recent interview, Emmerich admitted to targeting the Christ statue out of dislike for organized religion. That’s right, readers. As you eat your popcorn and enjoy the eye candy of a harmless action film, let it warm your heart to know that the director purposely destroyed an image of Christ because he hates religion and has a safe public platform from which to attack it.

But apparently not all religion. Emmerich went on to confess that he’d also planned similar destruction for Mecca but then chickened out:

Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit. But my co-writer Harald said I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie. And he was right. We have to all in the Western world think about this.

You can actually let Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is.

So according to Emmerich, it’s okay to throw unrelated attacks on Christianity into an action film because those people won’t kill you. But fear of fatwa is enough to prevent Islam from receiving such treatment.

Thanks for speaking truth to power there, Emmerich. You’re a real brave artist.

A controversy has exploded in the state of Massachussets over gay acceptance in society and how far employers should go to protect gay workers.

200410234-001One of the primary debates around gay marriage is the law of “mission creep,” which states that nothing is capable of remaining neutral because the liberal agenda will creep into anything that is not inherently conservative.

In other words, any issue, group, or legal precedent will end up belonging to the right or the left. Liberals are incapable of allowing anything to remain neutral and nonpartisan. Either conservatives are proactive in protecting something, or liberals will creep their way in.

Gay marriage provides a perfect example. Liberals would have us believe that it’s about nothing more than letting gays have the right to legal protection. They work hard to spread the mantra that conservatives will see no differece in their own lives and that everyone can live happily together in a blissful age of legal neutrality.

In states like Massachussets, this argument succeeded in legalizing gay marriage. Conservative groups reacted with predictions that gay marriage was not the ultimate goal, it was the beginning of mission creep.

President Obama signed a bill on October 28 that legally protected gays under “hate crime” legislation. Christians argued that it was a partisan and lopsided mandate: persecution of gays could be treated as a crime, but many other people who suffer actual persecution would have no legal course.

The end goal of all this is to create a class system of citizens. Those who are politically connected will have legal power to punish anyone they find annoying, while other citizens who are not lucky enough to be “special” will have to deal with unfair setbacks as a normal part of life.

Enter one Peter Vadala, a retail employee from Boston. He was fired by the Brookstone chain of stores over an incident with a lesbian coworker.

August 10, 2009, Vadala claims that he was at work when a female coworker got to chatting about the fact that she was planning a wedding. Somehow it was mentioned that she was engaged to a woman.

What happened next is the part under dispute. The woman claims that Vadala offended her with a comment about gay marriage being deviant. Vadala says he tried to change the subject at first, but the woman sensed that he was uncomfortable and prodded him for a reaction.

Either way, the worst of Vadala’s alleged crime was telling a coworker that his religion did not accept gay lifestyles. Vadala was not her surpervisor, had no power to affect her career, and made the remark only because the woman had first brought it up.

That was enough for the Brookstone Corp. to react. That very afternoon he was suspended and told to go home immediately. 48 hours later he was fired.

It must be nice to destroy the career of a random coworker just because they get on your nerves.

Vadala has been kind enough to provide public viewing of his termination letter, which can be read here.

Legal mandates in America are now apparently applied thusly: gays have full permission to talk about their lovelife but Christians are banned from speaking their personal opinion on the subject in public.

It looks like “what goes on behind closed doors” only applies to closing the door of a church.

Brookstone can be contacted here.

The Messenger has been working to expose the dishonest intentions of supposed Jewish lobbying firm J Street. The group claims to be pro-Israel, but is pushing hard for a Palestinian state and opposes nuclear sanctions against Iran. J Street also asserts that the Israeli military has committed crimes, and though they concede the Goldstone Report is slightly flawed, they stand behind the “substance” of Goldstone’s accusations.

duct_tapeTHAT’S what our current government thinks is a pro-Israel lobby. In fact, J Street has been invited to the White House for meetings with President Obama.

Last week J Street held their debut conference in DC. It was so controversial that the Israeli ambassador to America refused an invitation to attend. Several American politicians had been wishy washy, so there was no way to confirm who would attend until it actually happened.

The conference finally ended a few days ago. Is there a comprehensive list of who attended now?

Ummm no.

J Street’s website boasts that at least 150 members of Congress attended, but for some reason they don’t offer a list of who these people might be. Even journalists who attended are being incredibly tight-lipped about dropping actual names in their gushing accounts of the “very well attended” conference.

It’s almost as if they don’t want you to know.

Welcome to the most transparent government evah.
