Liberals are infatuated with the death sentence. Not for adults who have been found guilty of crimes against humanity, but for the unborn who, according to the liberal way of thinking, may grow up to commit a crime. To wit:

A private abortion costs less than $500.  I am sure there will be abortion clinics down there to provide private service, and it would be a better atmosphere anyway.  You never know who would be working in the hospitals who might have a religious objection, and you know what religious people can get like, (shooting people, blowing things up…)

hypocriteAnd then there are people like Jon 34 who refuse to accept that women have the right to end pregnancy.  He’d like all women who have abortions charged with murder.  Sigh.  So how about the military, Jon?  Are all those soldiers murderers because the bible says though shalt not kill?  Grow up my friend.  I’d love to see the government ‘not fund’ the military, eh?  Because some peace groups call it murder?

These are ugly truths but should be identified and considered.  I do not like abortion, just like I do not like bombs and guns, but it is a reality in our world and lets deal with it with understanding.

So much for due process, civil rights, and the presumption of innocence. Unless you’re a grown man who shoots people indiscriminately while screaming “Allahu Akbar”. Oops, I meant allegedly shoots people while allegedly screaming “Allahu Akbar”.

The White House rushes to lower expectations as Obama prepares to wing off to the East and do the only thing he knows how to do, read a pretty speech.

But administration officials say the president isn’t likely to bring along tangible concessions on hot-button issues, nor will he return with concrete achievements. Unfinished business — from the shape of U.S. military bases in Okinawa, to a South Korean free-trade agreement, to climate change, trade and currency issues with China — will remain unfinished.

Instead, Mr. Obama will likely rely heavily on oratory and personal popularity to try to boost U.S. influence while maintaining close economic ties to a region that has become the biggest creditor to the U.S.

Translation: “We have absolutely no leverage with the Chinese because we’ve sold them our souls, so we’re sending in our best used car salesman as a last-ditch effort to appease our financial backers.”

Alas, the Chinese know a smooth-talking Dear Leader when they see one.

Prediction: They roll Obama, take his lunch money, and send him home with his tail carefully adjusted.

stupidThe Democrats, Obama in particular, were handed a report card on Tuesday. They took one look at the big, red “F” for FAIL and decided it meant that people were upset with them, not because the people loathe their agenda, but because they haven’t been able to implement it yet.

The mind boggles. Simply…boggles.

Not that we believe for a second that they believe their own horsehockey, not by a long shot, but because they have the gall, the effrontery, the stones, to try to convince us they believe it.

As they assessed the results, Democratic lawmakers and party strategists said their judgment was that voters remained very uneasy about the economy and did not see Democrats producing on the health, energy and national security changes they promised when voters swept them to power only a year ago.

Sorry,  you can’t ‘wee-wee up’ on Americans and tell them it’s raining, ask King George III how that worked out.

As the 20 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall approaches, the MSM remains silent about the shocking decision of the US President not to attend the celebrations.

Obama’s handlers claim he is too busy to visit Germany to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall. He does, however, have time for:

  • 24 rounds of golf this year
  • a quick trip to Copenhagen to embarrass himself in front of the world
  • basketball games with the staff
  • date nights with the wifey
  • a vacation in Martha’s Vineyard
  • watching himself on TV **Newsbusters retracted this story
  • months of dithering about a strategy in Afghanistan
  • a “kiss-up to the Chinese” tour

Germany is going to have to wait longer than expected for US President Barack Obama’s first official visit. Citing government sources in Berlin, Reuters reported on Friday that Obama will not attend the anniversary festivities marking two decades since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The event will take place on Nov. 9 — just two days before Obama embarks on a long-planned trip to Asia on Nov. 11.

Long planned? Longer than last summer?

Obama has not visited Berlin sincetaking power*. He was in Germany briefly in June, when he made stops in Dresden and at the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial. It was during that trip that Merkel extended the invitation for Obama to help Germany celebrate the fall of the Wall. *taking power? Wow.

They really should read this stuff more carefully before they publish it.

A bank that recieved more than $2 billion in bailout assistance last year is officially filing bankruptcy to absolve itself of more than $10 billion worth of debt. Government officials, who proffered the bailout funds a year ago on the insistence that the bank could not be allowed to fail, are now apparently okay with it failing and have conceded the American taxpayers will not recoup the lost money.

mugBloomberg reported on the plight of one CIT Group Inc. that filed in bankruptcy court last week. The firm owes money to approximately one bazillion creditors and attempted to pull off a debt exchange in bankruptcy court, but the creditors, led by Bank of America, are favoring the traditional process.

Here is why this story matters: first, it exposes the stupidity of the bailout, but more importantly, it’s one more dent in Bank of America’s pocket. The more of these smaller banks that continue to fold, the more BOA sees another debtor go “poof.”

BOA cannot afford to absorb many more of them. And if BOA goes bankrupt, get ready for the end of the world.

Do As I Say…

Not As I Do.

In the latest installment of liberal hubris, California  Attorney General Jerry Brown was caught stepping on it with track shoes by political writer Carla Marinucci.

Apparently the Attorney General is in the habit of covertly recording telephone conversations with reporters, which just so happens to be illegal in his state. California Penal Code Section 632 prohibits the recording of private telephone conversations without the consent of all parties, and the state requires notification of all parties prior to taping. —The Attorney General caught repeatedly breaking one of the laws he is supposed to uphold….what a field day for the media. Oh wait, he’s a Democrat. Never mind.

This may never have come to light had not Scott Gerber, spokesman for Brown’s office, found fault with a corruption story on AG Brown and very obligingly sent Ms. Marinucci a transcript of her conversation with Brown and two of his staff members to correct her.Give that man a raise!

Considering that Attorney General Brown is in the running for Governor of California, it will be interesting to see how much play the California papers give this story. Will they pull together in ‘professional’ outrage, or run cover for the Left as usual?

Not Tonight, Dear

I Have a Headache.

Clinton Defers Role in South Asia Feud

After poking their noses into the internal affairs of Honduras, issuing ineffective demands upon Israel regarding settlements in their own country, and shooting off at the mouth about American talk show hosts, cable networks, and a police officer in Massachusetts who was just doing his job, the Obama administration has finally found something it intends to stay out of.

Apparently, they think that their input wouldn’t do any good, and may even increase tension.

Alright, who hit them with the clue bat?

Pakistan said it is open to the U.S. playing a more direct role in resolving the Kashmir dispute, but Indian officials reject third-party mediation. New Delhi said it is open to resuming its bilateral dialogue with Pakistan, but needs Islamabad to crack down on the militant groups that attacked Mumbai.

Pakistanis have particularly criticized a nuclear-cooperation agreement between Washington and New Delhi. The pact, reached last year, allows the U.S. and other nations to sell nuclear fuels and technologies to India, despite New Delhi’s refusal to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

Good thing we’ve got all those brainiacs in D.C., otherwise I’d have trouble sleeping at night….

For a little comic relief, here’s a piece on Hillary’s attempt to let her hair down and be one of the gals.

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton was relaxed in her town hall-style address to professional Pakistani women today in Islamabad, discussing “habits of the heart,” like tolerance and compromise, and touting the female doctors sent on US aid missions to Pakistan. It was nice, she said with a chuckle, to not talk about security for once. But the women wanted to talk security, the Christian Science Monitor observes, and they left feeling frustrated.

“Frankly, it was a waste of my time,” said one assistant professor. Clinton “wasn’t interested in hearing about the layman’s problems.” The questions that earned the most applause from the audience concerned drone attacks, Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, and the Kashmir conflict. Clinton’s responses were too “reserved,” said one woman. “Why were we here? What did they want us to ask?” The answer: one State Department rep said the meeting was designed to imitate The View.

This is gold, Jerry! Gold!
